iPhone OpenGL Hello World in C++
by john on Aug.28, 2009, under Uncategorized
I’ve got some games that I wrote in C++ that I’m porting to the iPhone. I looked around for a bit of boilerplate code and all I found was ObjC stuff. Then I found a blog entry fromc Ignacio Sanhez Gines mentioned that he was working on exactly that. I left a comment and within hours he posted the code on his blog. It got me going in the right direction quickly. Many thanks Ignacio!
While I’m at it, I should also mention this post on and iPhone Software Development blog , which goes over the peculiarities of OpenGLES, which I’d never used before.
Esteban Diácono’s Astounding Music Viz

I came across this yesterday, and I’ve watched it a few times since. Once with headphones to try to figure out how he separated the instruments. One day iTunes visualizers will have this level of detail and complexity, but it is worth keeping in mind that this 3.5 minute video took 11 hours(!) to render.
